CY Teachers > Faruk Kurtuluş
In 2008, I have been to India / Pune, to Osho Meditation Center and have participated in several different meditation courses and workshops.
After returning to Turkey, in 2009-2010 I signed up for Zeynep Aksoy’s Yoga Alliance certified 200 + 300 Hours Teacher Training Courses at Cihangir Yoga.
I count myself lucky to have been able to train with famous yoga instructors like Godfrey Devereux, Tias Little, Desiree Rumbaugh, Sean Corn, Sienna Sherman, Chris Chavez, Paul Grilley, Mirka Kraftsow, Bryan Kest.
Then I asisted Zeynep Aksoy during her 200 hour Teacher Training Course in Cihangir Yoga.
Then I accomplished a new 200 Hour Teacher Training Course with Chris Chavez.
During all this time I have participated in, and continued to nourish myself with as many Osho therapist trainings as possible. I completed the primary level of Svagito R. Liebermeister’s Family Constellation Training, then I assisted him twice in the same training.
2. How would you define your yoga classes?
My classes are based on witnessing the sensations that appear in our bodies, during yoga practice. Witnessing the sensations which are already thereas clearly as possible. They are based on seeing, and feeling as deeply as possible and experiencing the simplicity. No matter the level or the style, I try to diffuse this point of view all through the classes. You can use this concept very easily in your ordinary daily life also.
3. What is spirituality for you?
For me spirituality is living what life brings to you, with an open heart, without running after some ideal situations.
4. How do you connect your view of spirituality with yoga teaching?
During the classes also, instead of going after some supposed to be an ideal attitude, I try to behave as how I feel that day as natural as possible. I think that, in a different dimension, this invites the participants to feel the moment they are in, much more deeply.
As I began teaching yoga, I became a better researcher and a better student. Teaching improved my way of learning. Other than this, the energy during the classes, reflects very strongly the position that I am in and this helped a lot for my self improvement.
5. How it is to teach yoga in Istanbul?
Istanbul is a very chaotic and at the same time very calm city. This city contains such a great contrast in it self.
In a city like this, the students who come to the classes contain a great colorfulness.
And this is very enjoyable for me because it feeds me.
