In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is associated with the Water element; during this season, the Kidney–Bladder meridians are key resources that support energy reserves, resilience, and a sense of inner safety.
We’ll begin together with a short acupressure practice to remind the body of the feeling of “being here.” Then, with a fluid and warming sequence, we’ll awaken circulation; this will be followed by breath-centered Hatha yoga, gentle transitions, and a restorative Yin style to open space for deep rest. In closing, we’ll calm the nervous system with MFR along the back line and a long yoga nidra, aiming to complete the day from a lighter, more spacious place.
As we move from Yang to Yin in winter, our focus is on more recovery with less effort, more depth with less speed. Before attending the Five
Elements Balance workshop, this class offers a chance to experientially get to know the essence of a meridian-based approach.
Required materials: 2 MFR/tennis balls, a large towel/blanket, and savasana supports (block/bolster/pillow).
